Dev: A Crashed Piano For In-Game Sound Halo Infinite
Based on a recent video Inside Infinite, 343 Industries said that it had to destroy a piano to get an interesting in-game sound. According to the developer, the sound of this shattered piano is in accordance with what Halo Infinite is trying to convey.
When 343 Industries destroyed the piano, a very useful sound effect for Halo Infinite was heard. In fact, several sounds are created when the piano is struck using tools such as sticks, wires, and bricks. Obviously, the actions of 343 Industries are a testament to the totality of a game.
Interestingly, the piano was apparently not purchased by 343 Industries, but a gift from Lead Sound Designer, Kyle Fraser. According to Kyle, he no longer wanted the piano and chose to destroy it in order to produce sound. Kyle’s decision actually had a big impact on Halo Infinite.
