Dareu has finally released the A960 Alpha mouse which is lightweight and quite affordable in its class. When this review was published, the Dareu A960 Alpha mouse was the highest priced mouse in the Dareu mouse range.
But if we talk about the class of the mouse itself, the price is quite affordable compared to class products from other brands.
It’s just that there are indeed shortcomings that should be able to upgrade this mouse to better features or performance.
Check out the Dareu A960 Alpha review below.
Unboxing Box Dareu A960 Alpha

What the author likes about the box from Dareu’s product is the use of materials for the box itself.
The Dareu products that the author of the previous review wrote, such as the Dareu EH925s Pro and Dareu EM901 also have boxes with hard materials.
Dareu A960 Alpha also has a hard box so it doesn’t get dented easily either during shipping or if we store and stack it with several items on it. But that doesn’t mean we arbitrarily pile up items that weigh more than the durability of the box itself.
On the front of the box shows a picture of the mouse product and there is a kind of genuine stamp at the bottom of the logo. This indicates that the product you buy is definitely original directly from the official distributor.
While on the back explains the features found on the Dareu A960 Alpha.

There is also the contents of the box is just a mouse and a manual. And as usual again, there is no warranty card on the box. However, Dareu Indonesia actually provides a one year warranty for product replacement with certain terms & conditions.
Palm Grip’s best friend

Dareu A960 Alpha as the author said in the first paragraph of the Dareu A960 Alpha review has a light weight.
In terms of build quality, this mouse is actually solid and not frail. The material that this mouse uses is ABS plastic with a matte finish on the surface because it is a little shiny.
If your hands are sweaty, fingerprints and sweat will be imprinted on the surface of the mouse. So, wash your hands often.
This 1.8m long mouse cable is gold-plated at the end of the USB. In addition, the cable is a paracord cable. For a fairly affordable price, these two things are good considerations to get the Dareu A960 Alpha.
Regarding the weight, this mouse is not the lightest mouse in its class. But at least the weight is in the lightweight category, which is 65 grams.
It was so light that the author felt that the body part of the mouse felt very hollow or like it was filled with air on the inside of the body. Because even though the material is solid, the writer feels that the inside of the body is empty.
If Dareu made the A960 Alpha a honeycomb version, it would be very possible if it could weigh around 50 grams. But who knows? Maybe they have thought about making a honeycomb mouse that is lighter in weight.

It was a matter of weight. While the size of this mouse itself is 12cm long, 6cm wide, and almost 4cm high.
In terms of size, the author actually feels it is suitable for use with a palm grip. Remembering the author’s hand which is longer than wide or large. For the use of claw grip, the author feels uncomfortable.
Lightweight Mouse Suitable for FPS Games?
The Mouse That Still Carrying the PMW 3337
An FPS game has become a million people game.
The author himself plays Apex Legends as the main game that I often play almost every day–sometimes I don’t play because I’m finishing an anime/k-drama series.
In this review of Dareu A960 Alpha, the author also tries to play Apex Legends with 800 DPI settings.
The mouse that carries the PMW 3337 sensor has a DPI range of up to 18000 DPI.
A960 Alpha also has additional buttons which include: side button as forward and backward button and DPI button which is located behind the scroll button to change DPI settings.
In order to adjust the DPI settings further, you can customize it through the Dareu A960 Alpha software with the following download link.

Note for those of you who use Windows 10. When the author wants to download software from the Dareu official website for some reason a Windows Defender notification appears indicating that the A960 Alpha software download contains a trojan.
Whereas when downloading the EH925s Pro driver there were no problems before. This is the first time when downloading the A960 Alpha software.
Continue.
In addition to DPI, we can also adjust the macro buttons, RGB, axis sensitivity, report rate, double-click speed, scroll speed, mouse speed to the height sensor on this mouse.
From the appearance of the software itself, it looks more elegant and easy for the author to recognize. It’s just that when you want to change the report rate, mouse speed, and double-click speed settings, there is a delay and sometimes the software even comes out by itself.
RGB that Makes It More Beautiful

RGB on the A960 Alpha is located on the right and left side of the mouse and in the Dareu . logo
Dareu named their RGB that RGB by Dareu Tint.
There are also RGB modes that you can set at will, including: Static, Breath, Neon, Finger, and regular RGB.
Static means a mode that is static or still does not change.
Breath is a mode which as the name suggests is twinkling.
Neon is a mode that changes color from one color to another.
Then Finger is a mode that when you click the mouse button, the RGB will light up too.
And this RGB mode is similar to Neon. But the difference is that in RGB mode, we can adjust the color changes through software.
In addition, we can also adjust the DPI settings with RGB settings. So let’s say that DPI 800 is red. If we change to 1200 DPI then it changes to blue and so on.
Play Apex Legends Using Dareu A960 Alpha. So Getting Better?

The author, who often plays the Apex Legends game with a DPI 800 setting, is very comfortable if the size and weight of the mouse fits in the author’s personal grip.
Personally, the author himself uses Rexus Daxa Air as a daily driver because the size and weight are suitable for palms and claw grips.
When trying Dareu A960 Alpha, the feeling of using it needs getting used to it, especially the rest area on the little finger or the right side of the mouse. Considering that this mouse is almost symmetrical even though it’s not, the right side is not very comfortable for the little finger.
But the left mouse to put the thumb or thumb fits perfectly with the author’s grip.
So, about experience.
When playing Apex Legends with a DPI 800 setting, precision and accuracy work well, assisted by a mousepad that has a smooth surface, making mouse movements more accurate.

The polling rate of the mouse which can be up to 1000Hz is also the key to the fast interaction of the mouse with the PC.
But with a sensor that is still PMW 3337, actually at that price, the author personally hopes that the sensor that this mouse uses is higher.
So basically, does playing FPS & battle-royale games like Apex Legends using this mouse make you better? Of course not. But is it more helpful for shooting accuracy? Of course if you often practice in the Firing Range.

Conclusion of Dareu A960 Alpha Review

With a fairly affordable price, the Dareu A960 Alpha has provided great features and performance.
It has a classic design with a weight that is included in the light category, which is only 65 grams and a polling rate that can reach 1000Hz makes precision and accuracy when playing just right.
It’s just that because it still carries the PMW 3337 sensor, for a mouse in its class, the A960 Alpha is still a little behind. The author hopes that Dareu can use a higher sensor than the PMW 3337.
